Established in 2014, Vanmars Drilling was formed through a partnership between two experienced drillers and a geotechnical engineer. These partners identified a need for a drilling services provider founded on a strong belief that safety and reliability will lead to a greater level of client satisfaction. Ross Holmes, P.Eng.

An owner and geotechnical engineer has over a decade in experience coordinating and implementing geotechnical and environmental drilling programs throughout British Columbia.

Mr. Holmes is a registered professional engineer in the province of British Columbia and has managed drilling projects for operating mines, mineral exploration, geotechnical hazard assessments, run-of-river hydroelectric, wind farms, highway infrastructure, bridges, soil and rock slope stabilization, dike design and construction, land development feasibility studies, municipal infrastructure, and various commercial and residential clients.

Lance Van Kessel

An owner and driller, has over a decade in experience in the environmental and geotechnical drilling industry. Lance has worked as a full-time driller since he was 18 years old.  Lance also worked as the environmental coordinator for a large hydro-vac operation.

Lance has extensive knowledge of drilling, and drilling equipment, as well as has significant experience with numerous drilling methods including auger, odex, mud rotary, sonic, etc.

Christopher (Cody) Marskell

An owner and driller, has over a decade in experience in the environmental, geotechnical, and diamond drilling industry. Mr. Marskell has worked as a full-time driller since he was 18 years old and has drilled throughout North and Central America.

Mr. Marskell also has significant experience and knowledge of numerous drilling methods including auger, diamond drilling, odex, mud rotary, sonic, etc.

Hard working individuals wanting a long term career.

VanMars Drilling is regularly looking for hard working individuals wanting a long term career in the field geotechnical and environmental drilling.  As a driller, or drillers’ assistant, you will work long hours in a mostly outdoor environment.  You will need to be physically fit and be okay with working in rain, snow, and sun.  In return you will receive competitive pay, full medical and dental benefits (after 3 months), safety allowance, paid training, and a good working environment.

Preference will be given to those with previous experience (not necessary), a commercial driving license (air brakes, Class 3, and Class 1), and mechanical aptitude.
